11/03/03 Buffalo, New York, November 3, 2003 - BCS, a Buffalo-based firm that provides control and information systems integration for the industrial and commercial markets has earned REGISTERED MEMBER distinction in the CONTROL AND INFORMATION SYSTEM INTEGRATORS ASSOCIATION'S (CSIA) landmark BEST PRACTICES AND BENCHMARKS Registration Process. BCS is located at 4 Peuquet Parkway, Tonawanda, New York 14150. The company's General Manager of Systems Integration is Mark L. Massa. To be named a REGISTERED MEMBER, BCS had to pass an intensive independent audit process that measured the company's performance against benchmarking criteria in six business areas - General Management, Human Resources, Project Management, Quality Management, Financial Management, and Business Development. The criteria for the REGISTERED MEMBER program was developed in concurrence with Fortune 500 companies (such as Dupont, Clorox, and Ocean Spray), other firms that use control and information system integrators' services, and control manufacturers that often team with these firms such as Rockwell Automation, Modicon/Square D, as well as CSIA members. The program was developed, explained CSIA Chairman Robert Reinhart "to simplify what had become a daunting task for manufacturers to identify, interview, qualify, evaluate, select, and manage control and information system integration firms. For companies planning to engage a system integrator," he said, "it is often difficult to determine which integrators have the relevant experience, financial resources, and, quite frankly, business sense, to tackle a given project." Founded in 1988, BCS provides Control and Information Systems, products and services to industrial, municipal, commercial and OEMs in the chemical, water/waste water, pharmaceutical, food and beverage, power, plastics, metals and glass industries. In addition to the CSIA Registration, BCS is an Authorized Integrator/Solution Provider for a variety of the industry's leading manufacturers and technologies such as Rockwell Automation Solution Provider, Modicon/Square D Top Integrator, Echelon Network Integrator, Foxboro Authorized Integrator, and a Microsoft Certified Partner. CONTROL AND INFORMATION SYSTEM INTEGRATORS ASSOCIATION is the largest such organization in the world. Its member-firms provide manufacturers internationally more than $1 billion annually in industrial automation systems, including $400 million of hardware and software automation products. Its members, located in the United States and around the world, provide integrated control systems for clients in the automotive, chemical, food, healthcare, medical, metal, petrochemical, petroleum, pharmaceutical, plastics, power, printing, rubber, and other industries. CSIA was founded in 1994.
